a book in review!

Brief Summary:

Welcome to Trinity Academy’s best-kept secret.
The Society.
You’ve been handpicked by the elite of the elite to become a member. But first you’ll have to prove your worth by making it through Hell Week.
Do you have what it takes?
It’s time to find out.
Samantha Evans knows she’d never get an invite to rush the Society—not after her dad went to jail for insider trading. But after years of relentless bullying at the hands of the Society’s queen bee, Jessica, she’s ready to take down Jessica and the Society one peg at a time from the inside out.
All it’ll take is a bit of computer hacking, a few fake invitations, some eager rushees…and Sam will get her revenge.
Let the games begin.

I was scrolling through top free reads in iBooks and The Society popped up. Now I'll be the first to admit, I'm a sucker for a cover. I liked this one and the summary sounded good, so I picked it up. I'm a big "get it while it's free and don't read it for months" type of shopper, but I've been a slight slump so I started this one. I liked the idea of this book a lot, a secret society, a heroine who hasn't had a great go and is going to mess with her enemy, sounded like the perfect read. And I hate to say, but it wasn't a fully developed story. There were parts were I'd think "yes, this is gonna be good" and then it just kinda fell flat. The story was too short. Everything needs up being resolved in the end, but I wanted more. The idea, characters, and twists were there, but it needed just a little more grit. I read it in a night cause I just kept waiting for the next big thing to happen. 3 stars for The Society, xo!
