bachelorette recap | week 5; night 2

Two on One: Kenny & Lee. Okay let's settle this score. Kenny coming down the hill wooing and laughing like that, dude calm down. You are gonna get the rose. (even tho I kinda think she's gonna drop em both. Lee now, Kenny later) Kenny's curse filled rant is me during hockey season! Does Rachel have lash extensions or falsies on? I need to know. Bye Lee, extra time for Kenny. WHY ARE YOU GOING BACK DOWN THERE, Kenny???? She clearly doesn't want someone like that. Like you got the girl, get in the damn helicopter and go off on a date. Bryan boner time, does he look good in every piece of clothing ever? Like you are wearing that tee shirt handsomeeeee. Phew. Okay Kenny, don't eff this up. Focus on her, focus on telling her about your daughter, focus on anything else, but Lee. That ended well, better than expected. But it feels like he really is genuine. His daughter is too cute. Hold it together my man! You got the rose. I feel like Kenny cries more than my dad and that's saying a lot, cause he cries at every AGT audition.

Rose Ceremony: Bryan is working that suit. I love Rach's gold sequin dress. Picks for going home... Josiah & bad hair guy. Hold please, I'll tell ya his name when she doesn't call it. (His name is Matt and he looks like a door to door toaster salesmen) God why did the producers let Josiah have a confessional time that long? These overly confident soundbites are gonna come back and bite him. Cause nothing goes away these days...! SHE KEPT BAD HAIR GUY?!? Hmmm, maybe she needs a new toaster. Or wants to see if all of that will grow back after he joins the hair club for men.

Complete side bar-I wish I wasn't watching this at 11:24pm cause ya girls tired. PLL series finale trumped Bachelorette, so I'm watching it on dvr.

One on One: with Eric. Remember when he had drama in the beginning? Momentum? Is this 2 quick goals at the end of the second period? There's something about Eric that I don't like. Why was he saying "swag swag swag" when she was in the boat? Was he singing Boyfriend by Biebs in his head? 10 kids? God, her poor vag. Maybe I think he's trying too hard? "Your so fly tho. Let's get a bunch of selfies." Is he a 15 year old girl in the 90s? I would request an amusement park date if I was the bachette for sure. I feel like this is such a fun date idea. Oh they got burgers! Normal food! Is he drinking champs? I mean I appreciate that, but hmmmm, he doesn't seem like a champs drinker. Awe, I feel bad for him. He got the rose, I don't think he's top 3 material.

Group date: Viking fighting or something like that. Adam needs to go, he creeps me out. His face, his vibe, everything. Poor Bryan's oar got stuck, but I'm digging his white sneaks. Why do we need the instructors to introduce themselves to us the viewing public? Alex's job description is weird, I think I need more info on it. Kenny please win, I can't with Adam's face anymore. Why does that blood look fake? This might be the worst group date activity to date. As much as I want Bryan to be my bf, I really feel like he is so into her. Shit, she's falling for him. Damn it! Also, his IG he speaks a lot about how the best day of his life was when he got out of the limo...She's digging Peter, so clear. Kenny is missing his daughter so much that it's clouding his mind. I feel like he is trying to push things with her, his relationship with her isn't where it is with others, ie: Bryan and Peter. Ugh, bye Kenny. You kinda set yourself up for that. That was the sweetest compliment for her with what he said about her daughter growing up to be like her. Falsies or lash extensions? SOMEONE PLEASE TELL MEEEE.

One on One: with Will. Will, no one has a had a date like this...well accept if you've been on the show before. Oh yikes, awkward silence. Why isn't he trying to kiss her? Is he trying to be super nice & polite...where is the romance?? Yikes, that dinner was proof these two were on different pages. He did great yesterday, but tonight, not so much.

Rose Ceremony: at the end of an episode? WHAT? #tbt #dreamsdocometrue Hardest goodbye? Hmmm who will it be? Adam? Please be Adam. I don't think that will be a hard choice for her tho. "Always" says Bryan and "YASSSSSS" says Kayla. Matt again? Come on Rachel, you def don't see him as your husband. Also, you do have to keep a certain amount of guys or you could send them home early. Shit, is she sending Alex home and keeping Adam cause he jacked up his face even more? OHMYGOD. NO WAY. STOP IT. You don't have to feel bad that his face got messed up girl.

My top 4 for hometown dates (yes, I'm rushing it) Bryan, Peter, Eric, Dean. Who is in your top 4?  Come back next Tuesday for more recap fun cause next week looks cray! Xo!

ps-ended this at 12:35 am...not too bad!

bachelorette recap | week 5; night 1

End of Group Date: Kenny and Lee...Lee and Kenny. These two are just getting started. There's nothing to this, but the one one one time with Bryan. And to be honest, I was just staring at him the whole time. He gets the rose and I clapped I was so happy. Too good to be true, fine by me.

One on One: with Jack, good on paper guy. He's kinda awkward to me. Like he's having first date jitters, which is understandable, it's the first one on one, but still. Oh that first kiss, ewwwww so awkward. Poor guy. Wait a second, Jack thought that kiss was good? She pulled away and laughed. Oh this poor sob.

Weird cut to the guys hanging out bitching. Lee is acting like he's Rachel's eyes and ears. Lee has proven he's a racist by his tweets, I won't post them here cause I'm not about that life, but google it. Lee uses his words to hurt people on the show and on twitter. Lee is your classic pot stirrer, who likes to see how far he can push people.

back to the date, I think Jack is setting himself up here cause he's going home. You can tell Rachel is not feeling it. He's all over the place. I love Paris or did he say "parents? Maybe parents he followed it up with "is your dad funny?" like I've never had a first date ask me that. Also, when he smiles so wide and dips his head, he looks like a serial killer. I'm proud of her for just putting it out there. I feel like now I'm awkward after watching that! My mom texted me during and said "Jack is dying in front of our eyes" and she was so spot on.

Rose Ceremony: who is this Adam? Have I seen him before? Okay, I think he's going home and Iggy too! Cause I just don't see it and hate his name haha. If Rachel heard Adam say "this snack" about him, I don't think he'd still be there. Cya Iggy the Iguana. Also goodbye Tickle Monster. EW god, if I never see that again it'll be too soon. WHY couldn't he just hug her goodbye like a normal person? Guys, I need to find a bf asap, cause I can't have it be just me and Tickle Monster left in the single pool. Bryan in a suit, we need more of this, esp that black detail. Damn.

Bryan had his tongue out for a hot minute and my goodness...ohhh one on oneeeee.
One on One: with Bryan. What are you talking about crazy, Dean? She is into him. I'm so jealous of her, cuddled up with her on the train. Wow, what a cool date! I'm not adventurous like this, but it's a once in a lifetime, and with him next to me, done deal. Girl, Rach knowing about 187, my girl is hip hop. I like that he's so confident. I don't think it's him being overly cocky, but him believing in their relationship and what he sees in her. I'm really digging him (more than the looks now...) Rachel would be a good fit for him, but I can take him off her hands. People say I'm a catch too, Rach and I'm single af. What's wrong w/me? Not sure, jury is still out...get it, she's a lawyer. Her dinner outfit is fireeee, yasss girl. I think Bryan gets his haircut with scissors, it's very nice in the back. Bryan is back for another week ladies and gents, (I should just say ladies and Dad, cause he's the only dude reading...if he's not, let me know in the comments)

Group date: Okay, I have to say, I wish I could see Bryan in that outfit...any way, this group date was fun! I really liked how all of them got into it. Peter is SO into her. I liked that he was handsy with her. Good for Will for having some big ups and putting on a show. Aweeeee, Kenny FaceTiming with his daughter, so cute. Lee, looking at pictures in a book, doesn't count as reading...sorry, pal! Will's alone time was really good. Alex's too, I didn't hate his letter either. I feel like this is when it starts to get super confusing for her. All of the guys that are on this date are into her and it's showing. Josiah is a little over the top with this, laying it on so thick. I love how we see the alone time crashing and burning, but Josiah comes out and says "it was great. so good." Was it? Objection, prosecutor. (2 for 2 with the lawyer puns...!) Oh shit, Rachel is into Peter. And they are going for it, for a second I forgot it was a group date. Way to go, Will! You have been a slow horse, but I really like that you are you!

Two on One: Kenny & Lee. You can see what type of guys there are by how they exited...Lee walked through the door. Kenny walked through, but made sure it closed.  Keep that mindset, Kenny. Focus on her. I like that they have a little inside joke, which I think I missed, haha! Honestly, if onion time happened while Bryan was around, it was bound to go right over my head. Lee is a story teller and an actor. God Rachel, don't be this naive. I do think they both are trying to make themselves look better. But at the end of the day, none of the guys tell the same story Lee does. I have a question, why is Kenny and Rachel so cold, but Lee is chilling in his lightweight hoodie?! Kenny should've said "ask the guys." Also, he's kinda acting like a crazy person now.

Well, of course we're having a cliffhanger, but here's my overall take on tonight's episode-Bryan, Peter, and Will are in the lead. And I'm almost thinking both Kenny and Lee go home tomorrow after some dramz of course. Let's discuss in the comments or DMs-cause a bunch of you like to keep up with me there and I love it! Until tomorrow, peeps, xo!

a book in review!

Brief Summary:

A charming novel about falling in love (or like) in the digital age—the never-before-seen full story.
Madeline and Elliot meet at a New York City restaurant opening. Flirtation—online—ensues. A romance, potentially eternal, possibly doomed, begins.
And, like most things in life today, their early exchanges are available to be scrutinized and interpreted by well-intentioned friends who are a mere click away.

If you've ever been single, you can relate to this book. If you've ever given a single friend advice, you can relate to this book. I was hooked from reading the summary that this book was written in communication form only-text & emails. I laughed out loud, a few times until I cried. I got really pissed a few times cause boys are dumb and girls (myself included) can over-analysis anything. But seriously, this is a must read! It's perfect for a day by the pool or ocean. I recommend this 5 star book to anyone who wants to know what the opposite sex is thinking while dating, cause it's all here in black & white, xo! *ps-for nook and kindle it's on sale for $1.99!

To Purchase:

Also, for those of you asking I've read 30 books out of 52 so far! My Goodreads says 29, cause I've read one that doesn't come out until fall flip emoji ;)

series | countdown to the best summer ever!

Back at it again and we're still talking skincare! This post is sponsored by Formula 10.0.6 and you can find their products at Ulta & Target! They sent me a PR package and here are the things that have been helping me get my skin in tip top shape for being outside.

1- masks, masks, masks. I feel like the more I mask the better my skin gets. I switch between the Get Your Glow On peel off and Be Berry Fresh mud mask and sometimes I use both at the same time.

2- I've completely the masks, it's time to make sure I have no blackheads, so the 3 in 1 Three Times Sublime cleanser, scrub, mask is what I'll use a spot treatment. ps: this one smells delicious!

3- I use the One Smooth Operator scrub to make sure my face is super clean and all of the masks and treatments are completely gone.

4- last, but certainty not least, I reach for the Picture Perfect Day daily moisturizer with 15 SPF. Which is the perfect size to throw in your bag and go! It's not sticky and doesn't clog my pores.

What's your summer skincare routine? Let me know your must haves below, xo!

*I received these products from Formula 10.0.6 and all opinions are my own.

bachelorette recap | week 4

Rose Ceremony:  Why does Lee have a knife with him? Also, have you heard about his twitter drama? He seems like handful and I don't think he'll be around for a long time. I really hate when they don't focus on Byran...well that didn't take long for my lady boner to pop up, did it? Okay, the wrestler what's his name? Willy? (sidebar: his name is Kenny!) Idk I could see him with Rachel. Oh crap, he's headed inside to met Lee. Grab some popcorn, kiddos, cause this episode is gonna get real...Ahhh, Bryan is so charming and I'm eating it all up. Sheesh, I don't even like this kinda BS that he's spitting at her and honestly, I can't even get enough. Phew. If he is the next Bachelor (no spoilers about the end, please!), I will send in my tape. I feel bad for Rachel, these guy are so high drama. I really love the ones that spend their time with her making it about her and their relationship. I'm glad she put an end to the cocktail party and got right to the roses. I really feel like this season has been producer driven in some of her picks. It really bothers me when you can tell he she isn't into the drama and BS, but then keeps those guys had no idea there was a guy named Diggy.

One on One: with Dean. I think that they are super cute together. I love that Dean is nervous about this blimp ride. I'm pretty stoked it's not a helicopter like every other episode. Rachel's sneaks are SO CUTE! The setup of this dinner is so magical and romantic. I would love a date like looks like a fairytale. Dean has had life shit happen and that's why he's so mature. He grew up real fast. He's so into her, with all the little kisses and touches. I never remember his age and I don't think Rach really does either. He'll be around for a while.

Group date: on a boat...which prompted Bryan to lift his arms and show his abs. So I'm already in. And now his shirt is off...damnnnnnnnn. Okay, I'm gonna focus now. I love Kenny's rap. I live for a good freestyle...Peter's was funny. Those poor suckers thought they were just chilling on a boat and here they end up at a spelling bee! Eric looks PISSED. Let's see how they can hold up...waittt, Jonathan the tickle monster is a DOCTOR?!? No I need more info on this, stat! Spelling isn't for them. Why didn't we get to see Bryan spell? :( Okay on to the next part of this date...I'm looking for standouts. I think Peter and Rachel remind me of a couple that was matched up by friends cause they are a good fit. I like them together and can see it happening. To me Eric is two different guys-one type with the guys and one type with her. I don't hate it yet, but who knows what next week will bring. Josiah likes to win and that's clear with his goofy behavior after winning the spelling bee. Iggy, over him, boy bye. Lee is playing the victim there...both he and Kenny are at fault. Kenny rhymed journey and attorney...what do you got, Lee? Drunk, that's what Lee got. Ahhhh, Bry swooping in to save the day...Next week will be a doozy...wait, TWO NIGHTSSSSSS = more Bryan...yassssssss!

Yet another episode that doesn't end with a rose ceremony...I think I need to let it go cause clearly that's not he shows MO anymore. This week was pretty good and I definitely see Rachel finding a man out of this bunch...that's not my man, Bryan (in case that wasn't clear.) Let's discuss in the comments, xo!

series | countdown to the best summer ever!

Here we are week number 2 of this series and I'm excited about this topic-skincare! I'm a big believer in prepping your skin for the upcoming season. Here's the 2 things you can do in the shower (hello, my fellow lazy babes!) to get ready for dresses and shorts, well I don't really wear shorts, but you get the idea!

Okay, first up, it's time to prep your skin and that means one thing...EXFOLIATE. Honestly, I need this to be done professionally cause I have the driest skin on the planet. But the Jergens Natural Glow Color Primer makes this easy with in an in-shower scrub. It also will set you up for a streak free tan. I love the smell of this stuff and it really helps get the dead skin off-use a loofah or mesh mit for extra removal action! This is key for the next step...

Next up, start your tan in the shower as well! Jergens, the OG gradual self-tanning lotion now has Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer which is an in-shower lotion! Yup, you read that right, you can start that base color right there at the end of your shower. No rinse and it comes in fair to medium, which is perfect for me cause I'm super fair. Don't ask me how it works, but it does and I'm obsessed. Being able to get out of the shower with smooth and tanner skin, what more could you ask for?

What do you do to prep your skin for the long summer days? Let me know in the comments, xo! *ps-this post isn't sponsored by Jergens I just really enjoy their products, but Jergens if you wanna spon me, shoot me an email ;)

Random Fun Facts

Hello filler post...since the NBA finals cramped my style, here's a good old filler post. But you wanted to know random things about me...right?! Well even if you didn't, here we go!

I have an obsession with dinosaurs and cartoon dinosaur movies. I have a LittleFoot and Arlo stuffie on my bed...still to this day. LittleFoot is my ride or die.

I didn't get my driver license until I was 26. I waited a really long time, but now I actually love driving.

I sleep with my mouth open and always drool. Weird? yes. Gross? definitely. But 100% true.

I've written a novel, but I'm terrified to edit it to get ready to send it to publishers.

If I could trade lives with anyone, I'd love to be Barbie...she's got it all and can do anything!

See you tomorrow for the countdown to the best summer ever, xo!

a book in review!

Brief Summary:

***Each book in the 3:AM KISSES Series CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE***
She's my best friend's kid sister. I don't do relationships, and I sure as hell won't do Baya.
He's a player and my brother's roommate. Bryson is a no-fly zone. I should want nothing to do with him--but that kiss we shared...

3:AM Kisses (Romantic Comedy) First base never felt so good!
From the NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestselling author, Addison Moore...Cosmopolitan Magazine calls Addison's books...easy, frothy fun!
***3:AM Kisses The USA Today Bestseller!***

Baya Brighton is looking forward to her first year at Whitney Briggs University, new friends, dorm life, and finally being close to her brother again. Love is the last thing on the list, but when Baya meets her brother's roommate she begins to have thoughts and feelings that make even her blush.

Bryson Edwards has a secret he prefers buried in the past and long forgotten. He keeps himself busy with the important things, loose girls, fast cars, and long nights working at the string of bars his family owns. When his roommate's sister shows up on the scene, she's far too innocent and sweet for him but he can't shake Baya out of his mind and worse, it looks like she's seeping into his heart as well.

Baya seems determined to show her brother she's not a little kid and equally determined to use Bryson's body to prove her point. It's been made pretty clear that Baya is off limits to Bryson but their undeniable sparks explode into a whole lot more than just a few 3:AM KISSES.

I was looking for a light read that had a sexy lead and fell upon 3 AM Kisses which was in my library (I get emails from Bookbub and Bookperk everyday with deals, so when I see titles I like for under $1.99, I pick them up for a rainy day). This story was predictable, light, and an easy read, but after reading heavy, it was exactly what I needed. I loved the secret relationship and Bryson is such a hot male lead. I also really like that even tho this book is part of a series, you can read it as a standalone! This is a great 3 star by the pool read and you'll be hoping for your own secret 3 AM rendezvous, xo!

series | countdown to the best summer ever!

A few days ago I asked on IG (guys, I do a nightly chit chatty story-don't miss out on the fun; @polishedandbubbly) on what you would rather see; a countdown to the best summer ever or summer musts and busts...almost everyone said both, so here we are! Each Wednesday, I'm going to be sharing my ideas, tips, and tricks to having the best summer ever. Join in on the fun using the hashtag #pnbbestsummerever on IG & Twitter so I can stalk your lives! Now let's get started...

My first tip to having the summer best ever (or even just the best time ever) is making a playlist! I am the biggest fan of Spotify and you can make your own playlists for any event, mood, or even make a playlist that is the setlist to the concert you'll be going to in August cause you want your best friend to be able to sing along (Mikhaila...I'm talking about you.) I create a playlist for each season and I actually renamed my spring playlist for summer cause I've been adding to it and am still lovinggggg it.

Checkout my playlist (so far...!) below and let me know what you think it's missing. Do you make a playlist or have any songs that remind you of summer? Let me know in the comments, xo!

bachelorette recap | week 3

I just want to start with this...this is a recap, meaning I am watching the show as I write this. So I'm giving my thoughts and opinions as the show progresses, so yes there are spoilers. If you haven't watched yet, bookmark this and come back, xo!
Rose Ceremony: DeMario shows up and talks in circles, but Rachel is a smart girl and knows BS when she sees it. Do I think if he wasn't a grade-a douche could he have stuck around? Yeah and I'm sure if he actually said something truthful, she'd let him back in, but he seems to have repeaterettes. The guys out front killed me. They are such a bunch of teenage girls. Rachel needs a mic to drop after that speech, yasssss girl! Okay, I need to know how tickle monster got that job title...cause wtf? Now this Lucas & Blake shit is just bananas. Literally BANANAS. I told you last week if you use your time to put down someone else, she's gonna see right through that-Blake, talking about you boo. Coulda stuck around if you just let Whahboom shoot himself in the foot, he would have eventually. I could watch Blake and Whahboom argue all day, this is comedy at it's finest.

Group Date #1: I love Ellen. This is such a fun group date! I agree with Ellen about the tickle monster. I love these that take them completely out of their comfort zone. Bryan, if you want to kiss and tell, let me know boo. Was/is Alex a stripper?? Cause he's got some moves. I love never have I ever! This was a great game to play on a date too. I kinda love Fred and I love that they have a history. I think Rachel needs to give him a fair shot and drop the he was a bad kid. He's obsessed with her (in a good healthy way...kinda like me with Bryan.) Do I even need to mention this...but BRYAN IS MINE RACHEL. STOP IT, LEAVE HIM ALONE. Okay, phew. (I did find him on IG and really tho...why is he SO HOT?!) Anyway (I know, I know, no one is going read these recaps if I don't shut up about my lady boner for him...) Poor Fred...I'm so sad for him and I hate that she brought the rose with her to talk to him. I really feel bad cause he was so excited about her. I think she should've given it another week to see if she could get there. Standout: they are all pretty even to me with where they stand with her.

1 one 1: with Anthony. Horses around Beverly Hills and going into stores? What in the world? I liked that the date was out of his comfort zone (& her's too cause she's never been on a horse in the middle of a city) I love the Sprinkles ATM, how freaking cute! And the people yelling out "it's a one on one" are cracking me up. EWWWW, what did you think would happen riding around on horses? I guess the next time I say my job sucks, I don't have to pick up horse shit, haha! I will say they are super cute together. I can see it happening. I think they compliment each other really well. I feel like Anthony is so genuine. He's a front runner!

What are Iggy and Eric even fighting about? The men can be worse than the girls. It's wild to me how crazy they can get. But it comes down to people are competitive and this is a competition after all!

Group Date #2: I love that her girls from last season showed up to support! Side bar: was Corinne drunk or sedated? She seemed off to me or maybe that's the real her! Eric is gonna have his work cut out for him which two guys talking smack about him-also if I never hear "here for the right reasons" again it'll be too soon. Not sure why they would have the professional wrestler -Kenny on the wrestling date, seems a little unfair! Bryce came out of nowhere for me (and for Kenny-he kicked his ass!)...I think he'll be around for a while. And if not for Rachel, for Raven (wouldn't they be cute together?!?) I feel like the conversations all seem the same to me, no one is jumping out to me or Rachel really. What are they saying about Eric being inexperienced? What does that have to do with anything? Worry about yourself, Lee. (Cause you are in some HOT water with those tweets, Sir.) Standouts for me: None. I feel like they were all the same and Rachel gave Eric the rose to reassure him.

Rose Ceremony: Eric makes a valid point when he says "I'm not here to date you" to the guys. Which bottom line, he's 100% correct. I understand that you want your future husband to get along with people, but competition brings out the worst in people.  But all in all, I never understand what Eric and guys are fighting about...I have to agree with Eric on some level. Failing with Rachel is on him. (Guys, honestly whenever Bryan comes on the screen, I say holy shit. Cause he is hot AF.) Lee is a pot stirrer kids and next week is going to prove that.

What did you think about this week's episode? Let's discuss in the comments, xo!

a book in review!

Brief Summary:

Fans of Girl, Interrupted, Thirteen Reasons Why, and All the Bright Places will love the New York Times bestselling novel Girl in Pieces.
"A haunting, beautiful, and necessary book that will stay with you long after you've read the last page."Nicola Yoon, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Everything, Everything
Charlotte Davis is in pieces. At seventeen she’s already lost more than most people do in a lifetime. But she’s learned how to forget. The broken glass washes away the sorrow until there is nothing but calm. You don’t have to think about your father and the river. Your best friend, who is gone forever. Or your mother, who has nothing left to give you.
Every new scar hardens Charlie’s heart just a little more, yet it still hurts so much. It hurts enough to not care anymore, which is sometimes what has to happen before you can find your way back from the edge.
A deeply moving portrait of a girl in a world that owes her nothing, and has taken so much, and the journey she undergoes to put herself back together. Kathleen Glasgow's debut is heartbreakingly real and unflinchingly honest. It’s a story you won’t be able to look away from.

This book was on my to be read list for quite some time so when I saw it was on sale for nook $1.99 (same price for kindle!) I downloaded it. Charlie's story is heavy, so heavy at times that you will need a breather. I like novels that have a dark place and Girl in Pieces is just that. But it makes you think, the characters you meet throughout the book all could be people you know. It shows you everyone and anyone can go through stuff and you may not even know it. This book brings to light a very dark topic no one ever really talks about, but should. I appericated how the author doesn't tip toe around the root of Charlie's problems. I recommend this 4 star book to anyone you liked My Heart and Other Black Holes or Thirteen Reasons Why, xo!
