Beauty Haul

I don't know about you, but I love haul videos on YT, I love seeing what everyone else is getting. So, I thought I would share some of the goodies I've picked up recently!

I finally picked up the Butter Bronzer from Physicians Formula which is a cult fave. I grabbed another Essie Gel Couture Ballet Nude in Lace Me Up. (I also bought another two pack, but I forgot to add it to the pic-face palm) And I grabbed the new Wet & Wild photofocus foundation which I've been using and love! And I grabbed their new makeup sticks. I went for the concealer and highlight stick.

How stunning is that highlight color?! Ah, I can't wait to get this bad boy on my face. The concealer looks promising as well. I'll report back!

Okay and here's some new non-makeup products that I grabbed. I suffer from eczema on my fingers (I know so weird, right?), but it's getting a little out of control, so I wanted to give this lotion a try. You know how I feel about white teeth, I decided to give this system a try being it was time for a new toothpaste anyway! And last, but not least, my new holy grail. I hadn't heard about this, but when I saw it on the shelf and it said "extra dry skin" I said "you are coming home with me!" I am obsessed with this stuff. I put it on before bed and then I can still feel it on my skin the next day. The only downside is the smell. It's a little strong for me and you know that I "don't like smells on my face"

What new products have you been trying out? Let me know in the comments, xo!

Red Carpet Style | Oscars

Okay, in case you missed it the Oscars had the BIGGEST fail ever. I had this all ready to go, but decided to hop on to talk about the person who is definitely hitting the unemployment line today...who gives the BEST ACTRESS envelope (that already happpened...) to the presenters for BEST PICTURE. This is the reason why I watch live awards shows, I can't miss these types of things. Also, the fashion...oh and JT SLAYED that opening. Okay, anyway, here's my Oscars look :)

For glam, I went with the OG smokey eye that has no liner. Dewy skin and a mauve lip. This makeup is so classic it can pair with any dress. Nails were a simple pale pink and I love Marc Jacobs polishes, so double win! For hair, a simple slightly messy ponytail. Glam is pretty simple because the dress is the main course.

My dress is Temperley London and the name is Stardust Rainbow...which screams Oscars, right? The dress is full of sparkle, with a cutout back and winged sleeves...I'm fully obsessed with this dress. It pairs the throwback trends we're seeing now with the bell sleeves, but still is glam. This whole look just screams girly and feminine. Paired with a McQueen clutch cause duh and diamond, pearl drop earrings. Top of the look off with Gisueppe Zanotti strappys and I think I'd be on the best dressed list. What do you think? Let me know if the comments, xo!

Valentine's Makeup | Soft Glam

Yesterday I showed you how I would do Valentine's Day with full beat, but today I'm here with a softer side. I wanted to keep this look so simple, no real contour, no brow bone highlight, just easy peasy under 5 minute glam. Matte shadow in the crease, a little shimmer on the lid, and another matte light shade in the inner corner. Blush on cheeks with a little highlight. Mascara & brows, a pretty pink lip that makes me think of spring and viola!

Valentine's Makeup | Full Glam

While I may not have any V-Day plans, there's nothing wrong with having a full glam look in your back pocket just in case. Here's what I would rock on a date where I needed to be beat to the max.

Eye deets | After taping off to create a sharp look, I went in with nooner in my outer crease, keeping it pretty low. Then I went in with limit which I took up from the crease. I used small circular motions to blend this shadow with nooner. I wanted to make the look a little sultry, but still wearable which is why I went with all of the lighter shades in the palette. Taking burnout and dust, I used them on the rest of my lid. For the inner corner, I took a mix of strange and dust. On the lower lash line, I went in with limit again working that unto the whole lower lash line. I took a small amount of nooner and used that just on the outer edge. To complete the look, I went in with strange on my brow bone.

Cover Reveal!

About Defining Her
Nellie Hawthorne is a woman who has it all. A devoted husband, her own business, a wealthy lifestyle. But the Nellie she is now is much different from her past. A past filled with abuse, addiction, and men. Nellie’s carefully constructed new life is suddenly in jeopardy when a blast from the past emerges in her small town and her overbearing mother-in-law starts pushing for grandchildren and questions start being asked. A budding new friendship presents itself at an opportune time, and a once friendless Nellie finds herself growing closer to Prue Doherty.
Prue Doherty is the quintessential good girl. Always making the right decisions, always playing it safe. Until she meets a man that could change all of that. Still reeling from a devastating breakup and betrayal that had her fleeing from Chicago and settling into suburb life with her mom close by, Prue finds herself in a damaging funk. But everything changes when she befriends Nellie Hawthorne.
Nellie is trying to escape her past. Prue wants that perfect future. While both women strive to change their lives, they continue to cling to the past. But what defines us? Who we were then . . . or who we are trying to be now? Lies, manipulation, and deceit are woven throughout the pages of this edgy women’s fiction novel, with an ending you won’t see coming.
This novel contains adult language & situations, including disturbing scenes.

Happy Release Day!

Anna Bloom's The Truth About Love is out now!
Eve Harris has always had a point to prove: where you come from doesn't matter, it's what you aim for that counts. She has it all planned; find the perfect teaching job, live with her best friend, Cherry, and never get dragged back into the destructive world of her youth.

The last thing she expects is to bump into millionaire heir Cameron Wallis on her last day on campus. Nor is she expecting to discover that when she gives him a chance to win her over he's nothing like the playboy the newspapers paint him to be.

Will Eve be able to let go of her judgements and embrace a spontaneous affair with Cam that isn't part of her plan? Or will the constraints from both their families prevent Cam and Eve from discovering The Truth About Love?

The Truth About Love Vol.I is the first novella in a serial About finding love even when you're least expecting it.

Anna is also hosting a giveaway on her author page to win an ebook and signed paperback of your choice - https://www.facebook.com/AnnaBloomBooks/

Easy Valentine's Day Mani!

I may be single AF, but I appreciate Valentine's Day. I love all things pink and purple, so clearly this holiday is up there for me. Not to mention it opens the door for tons of fun content! With that being said, be sure to check back tomorrow for my Galentine's gift guide and I'll have a few more tutorials before the big day :)

To me there is something about a variation on a classic that leads to so many endless possibilities. This is my very girly and feminine take on the french manicure which is perfect for Valentine's Day or anytime you want a little something extra.

To start make sure you wash your nails with soap and water to get off any excess oil or polish remover. First go in with a sheer polish, I used OPI Sweet Memories to create a base that will add shine to the overall result, you can skip this step if you'd like to save time.

Next take your pink polish, I used Butter London in Teddy Girl which is one of my all time fave pinks, and make a V shaped starting about half way down the side of your nail. You can make these as big or as small as you'd like, I went pretty big for mine. I also went in and did two coats to get the polish to be as opaque as possible.

Once the V shape dries, go in with your french accent color.  I went with one of my fave lines of polish the Marc Jacobs Beauty in Gatsby which is a coppery, rose gold color (the website calls it a metallic champagne pink which are 3 of my favorite words). Starting on the top corner of your nail, slowly drag half of the brush over the top of your nail while rotating your finger towards the brush. The key for a free hand french, is to move the finger, NOT the brush. You can make the line as thick or thin as you'd like, but by moving the finger you have more control over the precision of the french tip.

Last, go in with your go-to top coat, mine is the Scehe Vite fast drying top coat. This is my favorite, holy grail top coat of all time. Viola, you have a mani that is cute and looks like it took a lot more time than it did, xo!

#4 | book in review!

Brief Summary:

Andrew Beckwith has already devoted his life to one girl—and as far as he’s concerned, she’s all he needs. The rough-around-the-edges bad boy left his reckless ways behind six years ago when his daughter Bell was born. To the female population’s dismay, he’s unapologetically single. When Bell’s mother walked out on them years ago, he vowed never to let another woman close enough to hurt them again.
Amelia Van Ecken isn’t just another woman. She’s an independent, smart, and savvy businesswoman who doesn’t have time for sex, much less love. In the midst of a drawn-out, bitter divorce, all she wants is to bury herself in work. But when sharp-tongued Amelia and stubborn Andrew cross paths, sparks fly—and burn. Two things are obvious in an instant: they want each other, and they’re from different worlds. It’s the perfect formula for an off-the-charts one-night stand. After all, it’s not as if opposites ever attract.
The First Taste is a standalone, dual-POV spin-off of Amazon bestselling romance, Slip of the Tongue. It’s not necessary to read them in order, however, it’s recommended to avoid spoilers.

Ohhh, I love Jessica Hawkins books. She is a great story teller and her books never disappoint. In fact, I've read 2 of the books already this year. But let's get back to The First Taste...I was rooting for this couple to figure it out so badly. There's something about the way Jessica writes her main characters that leaves you hanging on every word. She writes complex characters that have tons of baggage that you want to work though as you go on their journey. Another thing I love about these books in particular is as much as they're a series, you are ready them as stand alones and out of order. If you like steamy sex scenes, crazy ups & downs, characters that both need to be saved, then do yourself a favor and read The First Taste cause it's a 5 star read for sure, xo!

p&b-what made you start a fitness IG @rippedrobin?
I originally made the IG as a way to help hold myself accountable for doing the BBG workouts. It sounds weird but posting a pic either after a workout or of something I ate or even a motivational quote was a way to check-in with other members of the community to be like "Yay! We did it today!"
p&b- what does BBG stand for?
Bikini Body Guide by Kayla Itsines
p&b-who or what inspires you?

Who is a loaded question because EVERYONE of the BBG girls, the Lauren Gleisberg community, Buff Bunny, and so many other fitness influencers.

p&b-what's the biggest struggle of being a fitness IGer?

Having the courage to post pics of your sweaty self, not so pretty before pics, and worrying what others think of you.

p&b-what's the biggest reward?

Making friends and feeling that I have achieved my healthiest body and mind possible.

p&b-if you could collab with anyone, who would it be and why?

p&b-Buff Bunny fo sho. My biggest fitness ideal and motivation to build a bigger booty ;) but also to continue to grow into an empowered woman

p&b-people may not know you are a _______________ , what's the best thing about holding that title?

I am a Certified Dietetic Nutritionist and Certified Lactation Consultant. Having a plethora of knowledge about food and the science behind it makes me feel like a BA but mainly being able to help people learn to eat right and watching moms breastfeed their babies happily is priceless. I’m also a Uniconutrition brand ambassador, which allows me to help people find fitness related nutrition products (like BCAAs or Protein) which meet their needs and goals.

p&b-I get the privilege of hearing all of your cute work stories (and the horrible ones), what's your fave story from work?

I'm gonna go with the little guy asking me many questions about the wedding rings I wear (even though I'm not married), my living situation, and what I do with my life if I don't have kids and aren't married. He ended his interrogation by handing me an all blue marker "self portrait" drawing.
p&b-favorite thing to do in your spare time?

Workout! Orrrr lay with my cats, lounge with my boo, or hang with my bestie - you!
p&b-best advice you've ever received?

Not to worry about what others may think and to always look for the positive.

p&b-where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe a new career? Maybe with kids? Maybe just where I am now, which wouldn't be bad at all.

p&b-favorite food?

Ohhh gosh, I love food. Hence my career choice. But probably peanut butter.

p&b-if you could switch lives with any celebrity, who would it be?

I’m not sure. I don’t really “fan girl” over anyone besides the gorgeous girls I see on IG. But a fictional “celebrity” would be Elsa.

p&b-how much do you love me? hehehehe

Oodles and noodles. To the moon and back. Always, always, and always.

Cover Reveal!

Here is the blurb for Plan Cee

Would you abandon your present for a second chance at your past?

Cecelia Reynolds has spent most of her life trying to forget the commitment-phobic man who broke her heart. It wasn’t easy, but eventually she did it, or so she thought…

As Cecelia and her husband gather for a friend’s wedding, her perfect world is thrown into complete turmoil. Even though it’s been twenty years since she last laid eyes on Keith Emerson, all it takes is one glance for her to feel emotions she thought were long gone. When Keith ends up officiating the ceremony, she quickly realizes his message of love is directed at her, not the happy couple. But can she believe him?

We live our entire lives thinking we know ourselves. But do we ever really?

As secrets and lies cause Cecelia’s world to spin completely out of control, she is forced to seek advice from the most unlikely ally. In the process, she must confront the demons of her past and the events that shaped her into the woman she is now. Will she finally learn the real meaning of love, friendship, and family?

While this book is a sequel to Plan Bea, it also reads as a standalone.
