June 2016: New York, NY - Pace Public Relations is proud to announce its newest client, Marcello Pedalino, Executive Director of MMP Entertainment & Event Production and author of the new motivational book, “Celebrate Life: How to Live it Up, Discover Fulfillment, and Experience the Joy You Deserve.” A three-time national DJ Entertainer of the Year, Marcello and his company have helped clients have the time of their lives at their Weddings, Bat Mitzvahs, and countless other milestone occasions- so it’s only fitting that he would coin “Celebrate Life” as his company motto.  Celebrate Life® is a federal trademark and now an exciting new book designed to inspire humble and hungry individuals from all walks of life.

Marcello has achieved astounding personal and professional success as a celebrity in the exclusive private events and entertainment industry.  In addition, he is a well-respected lifestyle consultant who outlines his personal formula for achieving fulfillment and designing a life you’ve been longing for in Celebrate Life. Far from your standard cookie-cutter self-help guide, Marcello's book alternatively gives us an up-close-and-personal glimpse into his own rocky and ultimately rewarding journey---complete with twists and turns, mistakes and milestones, and the lessons that matter most in the end.
By recalling significant people, places, and experiences from his path down the road of hard knocks, Marcello beautifully captures a message of hope, courage, and the importance of having an unrelenting spirit. Part photo journal, part workbook, and part road map, Celebrate Life showcases his down-to-earth humor and wisdom,  making this book ideally constructed for readers of all ages. It will resonate with everyone from the stay-at-home mom to the millennial to the stressed-out executive.
Marcello is a living example of going from good to great as a business owner.  He places an authentic and endearing spin on how compassion, hard work, and a positive attitude are what truly matter in business and life. An unconventional entrepreneur since childhood, Marcello lays out a specific action-oriented blueprint that will inspire you to take the first step of living a daring yet purposeful life- far from the status quo, beyond the nine-to-five, and way outside your comfort zone!
He sums up many of the concepts with thought-provoking reminders to celebrate life in little snippets throughout the book cleverly dubbed “Marcello’s Message." The end of each chapter includes a CELEBRATE LIFE section that features practical advice designed to motivate the reader to put down the book and go make things happen.
Instead of offering generic “carpe-diem” style advice, he focuses on reminding us of life’s most important yet easily forgettable rules.  Marcello then wonderfully sums them up into a seven-pillar philosophy. In Celebrate Life, he devotes a full chapter to each pillar where he uses personal anecdotes to share simple yet effective tips.
Chapter 1- Take Care of Yourself: Marcello stresses why physical health and fitness are at the top of the seven-tier pillar: If you can’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of your loved ones or your clients! He credits a vast amount of his success at work and at home to his firm belief in this simple philosophy. He shares his tricks to eating your favorite foods without putting on the pounds, he lists some of his go-to healthy on-the-road snacks (not your run of the mill Cliff and Luna bars!), and he highlights the importance of understanding the dangers of emotional eating. He also shares sample menus from his food journals and strength and conditioning workout plans.
Chapter 2- Keep Good Company: This chapter breaks down the reasons why you MUST distinguish between VIPs (Very Inspiring People) and VDPs (Very Draining People) in order to be successful.  Our fulfillment in life can easily be affected by those with whom we surround ourselves, and Marcello encourages us to think about creating a circle of influence by identifying people who are driven, gracious, and worldly. He then advises us to remove ourselves, gracefully and respectfully when possible, from the company of negative influencers and detrimental situations (and most importantly to NEVER look back).
Chapter 3- Do What You Love: In this chapter, Marcello dives deep into his past and reveals how it allowed him to develop a personal philosophy of what it means to “Go All In." He challenges us to ask ourselves if we've ever wanted something so badly that we were willing to put our creature comforts on the line for it. He discusses the trap too many of us easily fall into--- a mindset of mediocrity, settling for less than what we deserve, and ultimately making the huge mistake of believing “it is what it is.” Finally, he provides concrete steps on how to approach people who do what they love, how to live with less, and how to minimize the things that steal joy from our lives.  He closes by encouraging us to develop an explorer’s mindset and go about learning what actually brings a person fulfillment.
Chapter 4- Travel:
A trip around the world might not be in the budget and you may not have the nerve to lace up your Nikes and go run across the country like Forrest Gump-- but fear not! Just start by getting as far away from your zip code as possible.  Marcello offers several examples on how to select the perfect destination, keep costs down, and stay healthy while on the road.

Chapter 5- Make a Difference:
This chapter delves into the critical reasons why paying it forward is essential to living a fulfilled life. He encourages readers to immediately start doing even the smallest acts, since sometimes doing whatever you can within your means and ability is much better than doing nothing at all.  In a nutshell, if you want to feel good about yourself, be good to other people.
Chapter 6- Let it Go:  Marcello serves up a huge dose of reality in this chapter as he reminds us that everyone at one point or another in their journey gets burned, screwed over, knocked down, disrespected, kicked below the belt, stepped on, or treated like a second class citizen. As a result, it's tempting to hold a grudge bigger than Mount Everest! This chapter is a gentle reminder that the ability to forgive, but not necessarily forget, is truly vital.  Marcello advises against dwelling on the part that hurts so much and instead promotes harnessing the energy attained from surviving such an ordeal to rise like the phoenix from the ashes.
Chapter 7- Evolve: This affirming chapter is perhaps the most important message that sums it all up and asks the question: What’s getting in the way of your personal evolution? Marcello provides his philosophy on conquering life’s adversities and rebuilding, refining, and reigniting your desire to move onwards and upwards.

Marcello's words drive home the message of what makes a life well-lived.   His book is the doorway to an eye-opening discussion that is bound to awaken your inner giant and rescue you from what could be a life-draining rat race.
Marcello preaches that time is life's most precious commodity and that we need to savor every second.  He wakes us up to the reality that we can't wait until retirement to start enjoying every minute of our existence and that the time to Celebrate Life is now.
I am thrilled to be partnering with Pace Public Relations to help promote the inspiring movement known as Celebrate Life,"  says Marcello Pedalino. “Our business was founded on the basic principle that life should be celebrated, not merely lived.  We hope to instill a burning desire within readers to spark change and embark on a journey toward personal, professional, and financial fulfillment."

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor―a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

Disclaimer, I am OBSESSED with this story. I have been seeing Paper Princess all over IG and the internet. At first I thought it was because it has a gorgeous cover, but then I read the synopsis. I was going to save it for vacation, but the free sample is 10 chapters...10 chapters! So of course I was on chapter 2 and knew I would be purchasing and finishing within days. To say I devoured this book would be an understatement. I cannot wait for Broken Prince to come out on July 29th, I've already preordered it. Ella Harper is a lead character that you will instantly want to see turn her life around. She is well written and a heroine that you'll love. Reed Royal is EVERYTHING you want in a male lead. And I mean everything. He is a bad boy who has it all including good looks. Ugh, I couldn't get enough of him. Run, do not walk to pick up this AMAZING book, trust me, the only problem you'll have is waiting for the second book to come out, xo!

Tori LaLa Cosmetics-True Matte Review!

Cabana Crasher - True Matte

Description: a bright orange based pink

TRUE MATTE is a highly pigmented formula that glides on as a liquid and dries to a kiss proof matte finish without dehydrating the lips.

Review: Let's talk about the color payoff first, shall we? This pop of color is so bright and perfect for Summer. I love this color. It's perfect to add for a day by the pool or a night out with your girlfriends. And it's even good for date night as it doesn't really transfer.
It would be perfect to pair with a neutral eye, a golden eye, or no eye makeup at all. Now let's discuss the with most matte lippies it can either go super sweet (think Kylie lipkits) or super terrible (think Revlon's mattes) but this one doesn't really have a smell. Last, but not least I have to talk about the formula. It's great, not too drying on the lips and last for hours. If you can hold off eating or drinking for an hour or so after you apply, it will last pretty much all day and won't transfer while you eat.

I have another Tori LaLa shade and formula that I'm trying out, so stay tuned for that review, xo!

Use the code PB25 at checkout on to receive 25% off you next purchase until 6/30!

*Tori LaLa provided me with a pro-discount and I received this lippie as part of that promotion. All opinions, as always, are mine own!

Six by Summer Finale!

update- I have about 3 more uses of this winter body wash. So I am calling this one a half-win!
update- d.o.n.e! & I repurchased another one of these! it's a fave!
update- sigh, I have probably 50% left still of this night cream. I've been using coconut oil before bed so I feel like I just forget about this one. major fail!
update- I am ALMOST done with this conditioner. And too be honest, it's the hardest product to get out, so I may be completely done with it. So I'll call it a draw.
update- this has been part of my go to foundation routine lately, so I probably have 15% left to go. It's a win to me!
update- I've been using this as a concealer for the last 3 weeks and have about 5% left. It's another win...I guess :)

Overall, I didn't do terrible, but I've realized if I don't force myself to use most of these products, I just don't reach for them. I like challenging myself from time to time to get rid of some old products to make room for the new! So if you have any recs of new products, let me know if the comments, xo!
Check out my friends who are joining in on the fun!

a book in review!

Brief Summary:

For some people, silence is a weapon. For Mallory "Mouse" Dodge, it's a shield. Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it's been four years since her nightmare ended, she's beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.

Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone--spending her senior year at public high school. But of all the terrifying and exhilarating scenarios she's imagined, there's one she never dreamed of--that she'd run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn't seen since childhood, on her very first day.

It doesn't take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she's not the only one grappling with lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider's life spiral out of control, Mallory must make a choice between staying silent and speaking out--for the people she loves, the life she wants and the truths that need to be heard.

I follow a very avid reader on IG: @hayaisreading and she posted her top 10 of the year so far (she's read 55 books so far this year, so I trust her recs!) and when I read her review for "The Problem with Forever" I knew it was time to download it. And I am so, so, so happy I did! This book is everything you want a novel to be, it has ups, downs, laughs, tears, and everything in between. It's haunting, inspiring, tragic, and uplifting all in one. I adore the way the author tells a story and the voice she gives to each character. This is a Summer read for sure, it's one you will want to pick up the second your chair hits the beach. I recommend this 5 star book to anyone who is looking for their next amazing read, xo!

Drusgtore Foundation Routine

Spring is almost over which means that the Six by Summer challenge is coming to an end. So to really get myself in a better place with some of my products-who puts 2 foundations in the same challenge? major eye roll-but to help myself finish these up, I have been swearing by this foundation routine.

Step 1-I like to use my elf nourshing night cream to moisturize-another Six by Summer product! I really like how this helps to smooth everything out and right now I'm using coconut oil before bed, so it gives me a good excuse to use the elf cream still.

Step 2-I go in with the elf tinted moisturizer, making dots all over my cheeks, my chin, and my forehead.

Step 3-I take CoverGirl's Ready, Set, Gorgeous and dot that all over the same places making sure now I have both products on all parts of my face.

Step 4-I use my fanciest blending fingers. I blend it all in together all over my face being sure to get my neck, too!

Step 5-I go in with the Ulta Double Duty foundation that has a mousse like constisancy and use this as a concelear. Putting it on my blemishes, down my nose, forehead, and under my eyes in a triangle shape. Using my ring fingers, I pat the product in. Depending on how much product you actually need you may have extra left over, when I do, I use my damp beauty blender to finish blending and get any access off.

What's your go-to foundation routine? Let me know your fave products down below, xo!

a book in review!

Brief Summary:
From New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels, book one in the Alabama Summer series.

When Mia Corelli returns to Alabama for a summer of fun with her childhood best friend, Tessa, there's only one thing keeping her on edge. One person that she’d do anything to avoid.

Benjamin Kelly. World’s biggest dickhead.

Mia hates him with a fury and has no desire to ever see him again. When she decides to start her summer off with a bang and finally give away her v-card, she unknowingly hands it over to the one guy that excelled at making her life miserable, learning a valuable lesson in the process.

Always get the name of the guy you’re going home with.

Ben can’t get the girl he spent one night with out of his head. When she leaves him the next morning, he thinks he’ll never see her again. Until he sees her lounging by the pool with his sister.

Mia is determined to hate Ben, even though she can’t forget him.

Ben is determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be.

What happens when the one person you wish never existed becomes the one person you can’t imagine being without?

Where I Belong is the definition of a steaming summer read. There's something about Mia and Ben's first encounter that you just know you will be hooked on these two. Ben is a sexy, strong male lead and Mia is the perfect female character who is struggling between being headstrong and giving into what she wants. You will not want to put this book down, trust me! I say grab your girlfriends, a cocktail, and Where I Belong and head out to the pool or beach to devour this 4.5 star book, xo!

a book in review!

Brief Summary: Chloe Henderson has never been one to break the rules or push the boundaries… but during her summer break, she and her friends use fake IDs to sneak into a club. It’s there that she meets handsome and alluring bartender, Will Morris. The pair hit it off immediately, growing closer with every passing day. But as with every summer, it has to end sometime.

Chloe’s senior year approaches and there’s a shock in store when she returns to do her final year at school. Will is there too, but he’s not one of her fellow students…

A tale of forbidden love, broken hearts, friendship, and rivalry.

Review: The student-teacher fantasy I have is still going strong, so I looked back at the list I stumbled upon (which lead me to one of my fave books ever, trust me, I've read it twice this year alone) And 'When Summer Ends' stuck out to me. So I headed over to iBooks and picked it up. I freaking love this book. I love the characters that the author develops. There's so many times during this story where you will be like "just kiss already!", but that's part of why this book is so hard to put down. You will have to know what happens next. I will say that the main character Chloe made me mad a few times when it comes to other guys, so that's why I have to give this book a 4.5, but this is a great beach or by the pool read, xo!

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

So I told you all that I would be making goals each month and posting them here to hold myself more accountable. Let's see how that worked out shall we? Here's last month's goals list:

  1. Bring back Plogging each Friday!-didn't happen. I typically forget to take pictures whenever I'm doing something I'd like to share, cause I am the world's worst.
  2. Start a new interview series-also didn't happen. But I am going to send over some questions to an author I worked with recently. So it's a half fail.
  3. Read 4 books (okay, not a blog goal, but it'll end up on the blog, so it works)-mission accomplished! I will be sharing these reviews ASAP!
  4. Film two videos for YouTube-yet another fail. I won't make any more excuses.
  5. Film one video for IG-I posted a boomarang, so I'm calling this a win.
  6. Start brainstorming for a Summer collab-I've been trying to come up with something, any ideas?
  7. A goal I add to each list...domain this bad boy-this scares me, so I'll just add it to June's list...& July's, August's, etc.
Here are June's goals, let's stay on my ass about these please :)

  1. Domain this bad boy
  2. Film 1 YouTube video
  3. Keep on schedule
  4. Network with other bloggers/IGers
  5. To go with the goal above, spend at least one hour total commenting on IG pics
  6. Non blog goal-figure out what I want to do for my Bday!
Did you make a goal list for June? If so, share it with me in the comments. Can't wait to see how I do, xo!

But trying to define a relationship that’s laced with closeted skeletons, half-truths, and constant question marks proves harder than making it big.
