| June Favorites |

Well it's that time again my friends, wow did June fly by or what?! Anyway, here's what I was loving in the month before my birth month!

Beauty & Fashion
Essie in Chillato-I grabbed this beauty from their Summer collection right at the end of June. I currently have it on my nails and already can't wait to wear it again this Summer. It's a perfect formula and a great alternative for white.
CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous in shade Classic Ivory 105- I've had this foundation for a while. I loved it when I first got it, but it was a tad too dark for me. Now that's it's getting nicer outside and I'm not exactly shade see-through anymore, I've been using this as my everyday foundation. I like to use this with a damp beauty blender.
Essie in Blossom Dandy-This gorgeous Robin's egg blue is perfect for Summer. It came out in their Spring Collection and I've worn it twice since I got it. Light blue polishes are my Summer weakness!

Glitter 18oz Water Bottle from Francesca's- I only have one random fave this month, but this one is so fun! I have a big problem with staying hydrated during the day, so this pretty water bottle certainly helps!

I've been loving my Springforward playlist on Spotify. I actually just started putting together my Summer Vibes playlist today, so it's the perfect time to follow me: kpaine718

I'm a little late to the Scandal bandwagon, but I joined and just finished season 4 on Netflix. If you need a new show to binge, I highly recommend giving Scandal a try. You'll be hooked.

Let me know what you've been loving in the month of June! Until tomorrow, xo!

a book in review!

Title:  Twin Piques
Author:  Tracie Banister
Genre:  Chick Lit
Book blurb: Forensic accountant Sloane Tobin and kooky pet psychic Willa may have the same face, but that’s the only thing these identical twins have in common.

How she can read the hearts and minds of animals has always been a mystery to Willa, and her rotten luck with men is equally baffling. Although she’s been looking for “The One” for what feels like forever (A teenage marriage to a French mime and dating a guy named Spider seemed like good ideas at the time!), optimistic Willa refuses to give up on love. When she meets Brody, the handsome rose expert hired to save her grandmother’s garden, she’s instantly smitten, but why does he keep sending her mixed signals? Does he return her feelings, or is their attraction all in her fanciful head?

Unlike her twin, Sloane has zero interest in romance. Her passion is her job, where she uses her gift for numbers to take down slimy embezzlers and asset-hiding spouses. When she’s assigned two high profile cases, Sloane feels confident the promotion she’s been angling for is within her grasp. But will her plan to climb the corporate ladder be thwarted by difficult clients, her co-worker-with-benefits, or – most surprisingly of all – her own sister? And how’s she supposed to stay focused on the drama at work when her childhood friend, Gav, moves in next door and the spark between them becomes impossible to ignore?

To get what they both want, can Willa and Sloane band together and rely on each other’s strengths? Or will their differences drive them apart once and for all?

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. First I have to say that I loved this book! The author's writing style is so descriptive, you can really develop each part of every scene in your head. The way she writes makes you want to keep turning the pages. This story has everything you could ever want in a chick lit novel, love, comedy, drama, and it's all mixed together for a perfect weekend read. I can't wait to read more from Tracie, I really love her storytelling style. I recommend this 5 star book to anyone who loves really, really great chick lit. Pick Twin Piques up, I promise you won't be disappointed, xo!

Must or Bust | Essie Butler Please & Hard Candy Blue Lagoon

I have been on the hunt for the perfect NYR blue nail polish. It's not an electric blue or a cobalt blue,
it's almost like they had a baby and viola here's this gorgeous blue!

This hunt has been going on for years. I thought I had it in the bag when Essie came out with their 'Butler Please'. I bought this beautiful blue polish and painted my nails to go see my Mecca, Justin Timberlake, in concert. Well I barely made it thru 'Take Back The Night' and I had a chip. Now let me brag for a second, my nails don't chip (like 98.2% of the time). So I chalked it up to my wild dancing. Then 3 days later, my toes chipped. Which for me, that's unheard of. Like I'd have to stub my toe twice and have some run my foot over (fun fact: which has happen to me) for it to chip. But have no fear, I tried the polish again that Winter and bam-same thing! I have friends that have the polish and run into the same issue. The formula just isn't good and isn't a typical Essie polish.

So cut to this past May, my boys are facing elimination and I need to support them to the fulliest. Cue the search for the perfect blue polish. I happened to be out and about, and what do I see Hard Candy is back in the nail polish game! Flashbacks of getting the newest color and matching ring start flowing. I see that they have a pretty good NYR blue and pick it up. I paint my nails and toes with high hopes, I mean I need this polish to last and help my boys to a win. Well, one of those things happened...my Rangers went on to win the series. The polish? Not so much. What the heck is it with blue formula polishes and their lasting power? There's probably not much more that makes me mad than chipped polish. Until then the hunt will continue, so today, I have to call both of these polishes a...

I hope you guys enjoyed this series as much as I have. And stay tuned, cause there will be more must or busts real soon. See you tomorrow, xo!

Cover Reveal

KEEP IT SEXY by Olivia Snow
KEEP IT SEXY is a New Adult novel published by Limitless Publishing, and is a part of Olivia Snow’s The KIS Series. Release date is July 14th, 2015!

Chaos follows Billie McAllister wherever she goes…
When Billie catches yet another boyfriend cheating on her, it’s the last straw. She retreats home to Colorado, determined to rebuild her life and stay far away from her unsavory family of con men and criminals. But her plans are derailed when she meets her disarmingly charming, tattooed new boss.

Christian Rodriguez has left his own tainted past behind to achieve his dream…
All Christian ever wanted was to own a bar. Now he does, but his dedication to living life on the straight and narrow is threatened with the arrival of his feisty, brown-eyed new waitress, Billie. Their powerful attraction should bring light to their previously dark lives, but also has the potential to pull both of them back into the criminal lifestyles they’ve vowed to leave behind.

Family ties are hard to break, and Billie’s family isn’t about to let her go…
When her father, brothers, and ex-boyfriend Connor show up, they make it clear they all want her back, even if they have to destroy Christian in the process.

Billie and Christian are caught in a tangled web of family loyalties, greed, betrayal, and hidden agendas as they struggle to uncover others’ secrets while keeping their own.

Can they best protect each other by staying together, or by walking away and continuing to play a very dangerous game?

I watched her moving closer to me.
“I thought you didn’t want this with me?” she said. Finally, I looked into her eyes.
“I don’t, I do. Fuck, I don’t know, Billie.” I slumped down on the nearest armrest, tightening my hold on my towel. She stepped between my thighs and placed her cold hands on my shoulders. I hissed from her touch and how close she was to me. I shouldn’t have, but I gripped her hips and brought her closer. The air around us became palpable. Billie’s stare flicked to my lips and back up to my eyes. Her pink tongue darted out to wet her lips before she spoke.
“I want to kiss you,” she whispered. My fingers dug into her skin. I was afraid I’d hurt her when she whimpered, but when I saw where she was looking, I knew it had nothing to do with my grip, but from my now tented towel. My hands slowly traveled from her hips then fanned on each side of her ass, and I squeezed.
“Then kiss me,” I murmured in a low breath.
Her small hands grabbed the sides of my neck, pulling me to her mouth. The closer we got, the tighter I squeezed. Billie’s breath was shallow, and I knew at this point she’d let me do whatever I wanted to her. I knew if I took off her shirt and sweats she’d let me. But right now all I wanted was to feel her lips against mine. Have her soft curves pressed against me, clothed. The first time our lips touched, it hardly felt like a kiss. She skimmed her mouth from one end of mine to the other, barely touching. I watched with hooded eyes every move she made. When her eyes closed, I shut mine and took over.
My fingers sunk into her skin, and she yelped when she came crashing into my erection. She gripped tighter against my neck and I felt her body become putty in my arms. I kissed her slowly, open mouthed. I wasn’t sure if I could handle the feel of her tongue against mine at the moment. But when her mouth parted, I let go of her ass and took her face in my hands, moving her slightly as I deepened the kiss and swallowed the moan she gave me. Her tongue was lax, wet and so fucking sweet. We were both breathing forcefully through our nose when Billie’s hand fell down to touch my stomach. I grunted, taking in a shallow breath, curious and afraid of what her next move would be.
She delicately moved down to the towel, but when my phone rang she stopped instantly.

a book in review!

Brief Summary:
Friends don’t let friends make the same horrible relationship mistakes twice.

Rion, Amy, and Arielle, the three occupants of first-year dorm Harrison Tower’s Suite 17C have never met before the first day of school, but they soon discover they have one thing in common – being on the wrong end of an epically awful breakup.

Heartbreak sucks, especially when the girls should have seen the trouble coming from a mile away. But there’s no better time than the beginning of college to take charge of your own love life, and nobody better than a roommate to keep you accountable. Over ice cream and pizza their first week, the girls vow never again to date anyone like the assholes who ripped their hearts out and smeared them across the quad.

And that's how the Broken Hearts’ Society of Suite 17C is born.

Now, if only Crash, the tattooed, pierced, and probably stoned guy who works at Rion’s newest job, wasn’t so damn sexy and sweet...

If only Matt, the thoughtful and driven pastor’s kid, would quit being so okay with just being Amy’s friend…

If only Lauren, the innocent California girl with her own set of issues, would stop finishing Arielle’s sentences and invading her dreams…

it would be a lot easier for the girls to keep their promises to the Society and to themselves.

If only.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is one of the books that if it was a movie would be an instant classic. Each character has their own story to tell and the author does a great job of giving them each their own voice. 3 very different girls trying to figure out themselves and all the challenges along the way. This story is a prefect Summer read, it's got a little bit of everything, the type of Summer story that you can't wait to get out back by the pool so you can catch up with the characters. I recommend this 5 star book to anyone who likes a funny, page turning, coming of age book, xo!

Author Bio:
Raised on comic books and classic novels, LeighAnn developed an early love of science fiction and great literature. As an adult, she rediscovered her love for not only reading, but also writing the types of fiction that enchanted her as a teen. Her novels are packed full of flights of fancy, first loves, unexpected friendships, and all the other things that make self-discovery stories so fun to tell.
LeighAnn, her husband, and four children live in Columbus, Ohio. When she’s not immersed in the world of fiction, you can find her with her nose buried in her Kindle, obsessing over the latest superhero movie, or using her kids as an excuse to go out for ice cream (again).

Must or Bust | Maybelline The Blushed Nudes

Not sure why there was a glare...this is what I get for trying to have pretty product pictures.

I'm so happy that Maybelline has come out with their The Nudes line. These palattes are perfect dupes for the Urban Decay Naked palattes. And at $9.98, they're super easy on the wallet. When they first launched they were exclusive to WalMart, but I know you can pick them up at Ulta now too!
One of my favorite colors of this palatte is the on the top swatch photo fourth in. It's a gorgeous matte rose gold. I love to use it to build up my crease. I also love both of the first left colors. They are the perfect inner corner colors or great colors to help blend everything out. The bottom 5 colors are so pigmented and absolutely beautiful. This palatte as a whole for me is the perfect one to pack and go. So what's my ultimate decision on this bad boy?!

Let me know if there's any products you want me to try out to see if they're a must or a bust, xo!
