This week was l-o-n-g. I thought Tuesday was Wednesday and Wednesday was Thursday. So imagine my surprise each morning when my alarm went off. But here we are and it's FINALLY Friday! & it's Halloween, so that's a bonus! I'm pretty excited for another low key, but fun weekend on deck. Catch ya, Monday, xo!
to one of my MOST FAVORITE people EVER. Baby bestie aka Bean. She is the sweetest, most caring, funniest, smart 14 year old you'll ever meet. I remember the day she was born, I couldn't have been happier to have another girl in the family. Btooth and I were pretty tired of going over to our Uncle's to only have boy toys to play with (sorry, Nick & Tom.) So when Bean was born, we knew it would be years of fun playing Barbies, pink, baby dolls, endless games of "Honey" aka house. We have countless inside jokes and I love our special time together. Nothing makes me happier than when she asks for my help or opinion with something. My wish for you Beanie, is that you stay exactly how you are. You are completely perfect and don't ever change cause someone wants you to! I love you, more. Xo!
I’ve decided that I want to own at least one bottle from each of the brands above. The colors may not be exactly what I want, but you get the picture. So, if you’re in the giving mood, here’s 10 ideas on what I’d like ;) xo!
After having my first cold of the season last week, I figured I would share some of my sick day must haves.
Tissues! I like the kind that have a cooling sensation or aloe.
Tea in a cute mug. There's nothing like a hot cup of tea when you aren't feeling well. I've been loving Bigelow's Vanilla Caramel and Harney & Sons Soho Blend. And a cute mug is just a bonus that makes you feel happy.
Movies or a marathon of your fave show. I was lucky enough that there was a Keeping Up marathon on when I was sick.
Your favorite blanket. Mine is grey and super soft. If I know I won't be sleeping at home, I bring it with me.
Fuzzy socks and lotion. I like to multitask and give my feet a little treat while I get some rest.
Cough drops. I love the Vitamin C drops or sugar-free menthol ones.
Soup! Everyone has their fave soup and mine happens to be a good old cup of noodles.
Zoey/Buggy! She is the world's best cuddler and absolutely the best nurse as well.
I hope that I don't need this list again anytime soon, until tomorrow, xo!
Laura and Nicole, childhood friends separated by mysterious circumstances, meet again quite by accident and renew their friendship. Laura is a devoted single mom. She's stuck in a going nowhere relationship, but doesn't realize it until she meets Adam, her newly dubbed Airport Hottie, on the flight home after spending a whirlwind weekend with Nicole. Nicole is now married to the man of her dreams, but she carries deep wounds from a childhood filled with secrets, constantly afraid to trust any true happiness she encounters. Together these two best friends work toward uncovering the long buried secrets of Nicole's horrific past, ultimately freeing her to believe in and embrace the new life she's worked so hard to create. The friendship nurtures both women and Laura finds her own self confidence and the revelation that what she needs is within reach, hers for the taking.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I loveeee this cover. This was a great, easy read. The story is not short on love, drama, and a past that continues to haunt two old friends. The bond between Laura and Nicole is one that lasts forever. This book is a perfect weekend read when you just want to relax and get away to another world. This 4 star book will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next, xo!
Laura stared stupidly up at Airport Hottie (just Adam, she chided herself in her head). He was so completely out of context that it took her a moment to regain her composure. He’d just strolled over and called her by name, smiling widely, obviously happy to see her. She stared into his sea blue eyes, mute. He saved her by speaking first.
“I was hoping you’d remember me,” he told her, and his low, smooth voice sounded like rich, steaming coffee to her, warm and inviting.
Boy, do I ever need to get laid, she thought, and felt her cheeks burn at her own silent audacity.
“Of course I remember you, Adam,” she answered, adding, “The flowers you sent were beautiful, thank you.”
“I wasn’t sure if you’d gotten them.” He nodded to Charlie, who was watching the interaction with interest.
“Oh, uh, Adam, this is my son Charlie; Charlie, Adam.”
Charlie had a devilish glint in his eye Laura did not like. She wondered briefly if he’d overheard her nickname for the man during Nicole’s visit. She tried furiously to send him a don’t-you-dare message with her gaze.
Charlie returned Adam’s smile and put a hand out. “Nice to meet you. Do you work here? Funny, I think my mom has mentioned you.” He feigned concentration, trying to remember.
Laura would’ve kicked him if he wasn’t her son. Adam graced her with a small half smile, hopeful. “Really? That’s great. And as a matter of fact, I do sort of work here. Not for Farm and Fleet, but I volunteer for the shelter. Are you looking to adopt a dog, Charlie?”
Having gotten Charlie onto a subject he was invested in, Adam gestured at the rows of cages. “Want me to show you a few of the best ones here?”
Laura fell into step behind the two of them as they toured the rows. Charlie did fall in love with two puppies, as she’d anticipated, but neither seemed quite right for them. She was pleasantly surprised when, after over an hour, Charlie looked at her and said, “I think I’ll wait. I want to be sure.” He shook Adam’s hand again, “It was nice meeting you Adam, thanks for your help. I’m gonna go check out the baby goats outside, Mom.”
Laura was left standing alone with Adam. She glanced over his shoulder at the dogs, then to her right at the livestock fencing, studied her shoes for a bit … and finally looked at him. “Thank you, that was really nice of you.” She buttoned her coat, switched her purse from one arm to the other. That’s exactly what he is, she thought. Nice. That’s all. She turned to go.
“Hey, Laura,” he leaned in toward her, and she caught the faintest hint of a subtle, spicy scent, “would you have dinner with me tonight?”
Her mouth was suddenly too dry to speak. She wondered if he could tell she was trying to suck in her belly. “I, ah, no, I can’t,” she stammered, thinking, why can’t I? “Charlie’s waiting, I have to go, I’m sorry,” and she wished she would just shut up. What the hell was she doing?
Adam looked genuinely disappointed. He tipped his head to the side a bit and captured her gaze with those intense blue eyes. She noticed that little cowlick again at his temple and wondered if his jet black hair was as soft as it looked.

I'm loving this whole vibe. From the dark lips, to the soft curls. This look screams fall! I like to think she's grabbing a latte to head to the pumpkin patch with her handsome boyfriend. Til Monday, xo!
As much as I'm loving my new name and new setup, I miss my followers. Moving blogs sucks, but I know I just need to keep posting and hopefully my followers will find me again! Anywho, I've been fighting a cold all week, so nothing too exciting to report. Fall themed dinner tonight with the girls', hiking, Rangers, maybe a sissy date day all on the horizon for the weekend. I won't lie I'm looking forward to not having a wedding to attend! Laters, xo!
After being sick all day at work and getting an email that my blog was suspended, I came to the conclusion that I was shut down on Wordpress for running Book Tours. Yep, one of my staple posts, got me shut down. SO here I am...on a new outlet and with a new name. It's going to take me a little while to get used to this new outlet, but I'm excited for this new chapter in blogging. I've been wanting a new name for a while and this one fits me perfectly, HUGE thanks to babytooth for coming up with it-she just gets me! I'm going to start posting regularly later in the week, so stay tuned. XO!
