Beauty Haul

Between Christmas, gift cards, and just things I needed, I realized I have enough for a haul! So check out all my new goodies.

IT Brushes for Ulta-babytooth hooked me up with the dual side set. I was in need of new brushes and now I have the essentials.
Benefit Gimme Brow in light-I've heard amazing things about this and couldn't wait to get my paws on it!
Milani Runway Eyes in designer browns-my dad found this set for me and I love the colors.
Schick Hydro Silk disposable razors-these are the besttttt, I used to only use Venus razors, but these are amazing. I'll never go back.
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet-my aunt got this for me and it smells heavenly. It's my new favorite.
L'Oreal Visible Light in 102 soft ivory-I found this on sale and bought it on a whim. I'm running out of my CoverGirl 3 in 1, so why not give this a shot. I'll do a review soon.
Nail polish remove-cause well duh.
Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser in light/medium-This is a holy grail product for me. I use it to cover any blemishes as well as my under eyes.
Maybelline Lash Sensational in blackest black-Ingrid just got this to try and I figured I would too. Ulta was/is having a buy 1, get one 50% off on Maybelline products.
Ulta Super Blender Sponge-my last one Zoey confused for a toy...
Blonde hair ties-can never have enough!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in perversion-babytooth got me this bad boy for Xmas and to say I'm in love would be an understatement. If you're in the market for a deep black eyeliner that doesn't smudge off, pick this up!
NYX in 505A Shiva-MK got this for me and it's a perfect bright pink for anytime of year for a blondie like me!
Yes To Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes-Another Ingrid recommendation, they sting my outer eye area a little bit, but I like how they get all my make up off and leave my skin feeling smooth. The don't really smell like blueberries or all that good. Not sure if I'll repurchase, I'll keep ya posted.

NYE Outfit Ideas

New Year's Eve style two ways. If you're like me and NYE isn't a big deal and you prefer to stay in-I'm typically asleep before Midnight-I've got your outfit idea covered.

I absolutely love oversized sweaters. There's nothing better than throwing one of these on over skinny jeans or leggings. Add a headband, a fun watch with some simple bracelets, and the cutest slippers I've ever seen and you'll be able to hang with friends for a movie marathon in style.

Up next is for the girl who is hitting the town.

Black tights with this adorable chevron pattern dress that screams NYE. Pair it with some booties, gold bangles, and of course red lips-you'll be the life of the party!

Ps. A HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of my most favorite people ever, my Aunt Chrissy who is the BEST woman you'll ever meet!!

a book in review!

Brief Summary:

Three years ago, Eve Brooke had the most passionate, memorable night of her life. Unfortunately, it was with a man who wasn't her husband.
Can infidelity be forgotten? Not when her one night stand moves in next door, it can’t.

Eve Brooke has a pretty good life. She’s married to Matt, her childhood sweetheart, has an interesting career and lives in a nice house in the suburbs. If life is so perfect why did Eve sleep with a complete stranger during a trip to London? And why, three years later did he have to move in next door with his beautiful wife? As the attraction between them flares up again, Eve begins to question her marriage and wonders if it is fate or coincidence that has brought them back together…

Review:

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This book read like a soap opera. The type where you know what's going to happen next, but still tune in to be sure. The sex scenes were racy and gave the book what it was missing. It felt a little unrealistic at times, but that's what made it good. It was a nice quick getaway to the UK. This 3 star book is a quick Saturday afternoon read that would be good anytime of year, xo!

About the author
Although Suzy is a Yorkshire lass at heart, she left her home town of Rotherham, UK, to move to Portugal with her family when she was ten. The Algarve continues to be her home, where she lives with her childhood sweetheart, Michael, two neurotic dogs and a cat who thinks she's a princess.
Shortly after completing her studies, Suzy was offered the position of trainee journalist for a local English newspaper. Her love of writing developed and a few years later she moved on to become assistant editor for the region's largest English language publisher. Since then she has also worked as the editor of one of the Algarve's most loved monthly lifestyle magazines. Early in 2010 however, Suzy began working as a full time author. She has since written several books: Raven, December Moon, The Lost Soul (The Raven Saga), Daisy Madigan's Paradise, The Ghost of Josiah Grimshaw, The Temporal Stone, Looking for Lucy Jo (The Morgan Sisters), Forever Fredlessand And Then There Was You.

And Then There Was You is available exclusively on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OTT7WYU

Review:

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. There's so many things about this book that I enjoyed. The friendship between the girlfriends, Rachel's relationship with herself, and her relationship with Mason. I could relate to all of them. I read this book on a Saturday afternoon, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I took a few tips from the book to which was refreshing. I recommend this 4.5 star book that the author wrote like a cute rom-com movie you'd go catch with you girlfriends to anyone who loves good chick lit, xo!

Gossip Girl Style; Vanessa Edition

Today is all about that other Brooklyn babe, Vanessa. Her style is pretty much to throw anything and everything together. She always pulls it off however. I appreciate her put it all out there style.

I could see her rocking this look on her way to meet Nate for coffee. The tribal print shorts with that sweater with the cool zipper detail are so Vanessa.

How fetch (yeah, I'm trying to make that happen.) fringed booties?! I think this is my fave look for Vanessa. It's dark, edgy, but still super laid back. I could see her in this trying to figure out what the Upper East Siders are up to..

From the funky comic strip skirt (with suspenders!), to the lace top, to the bright yellow Louboutins (don't let her fool you, she made good money at that coffee shop.) this screams Summer Vanessa. Out of all of the dolls on Gossip Girl, her style was the most colorful and different. You never knew what you'd see her in!

Gift Guide: Spend or Save

Today's gift guide is a little different. I went in search of high end products and dupes for them. Let's get started!

Eyeshadow
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palatte-$54 Sephora.com
This palatte is a cult favorite in the beauty world. You pretty much get any neutral color you can think of. The Naked palattes are super pigamented. It's definitely worth the splurge.

Maybelline The Nudes Palatte- $9.99 Ulta.com
When I first spotted this in palatte in an ad in People magazine, I knew it was going to be a dupe for the Naked palatte. It's always sold out at my Ulta and for good reason. The colors aren't as shimmery as the Naked ones, but they're not matte either. If you are in the market for a good everyday palatte that will travel well (& fit in your makeup bag!), pick this up. You won't be disappointed!

Lippies
TooFaced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Fucshia- $21 Ulta.com
Wow, if you love a super pigamented lip product, well then is for you! I will say this transfers pretty easily, but the lasting power is amazing. They are super smooth and glide on nicely. Even tho use squeeze the packaging to get it out on to your lips, there's next to no mess.

NYX Cosmetics Round Case Lipstick in Shiva- $3.99 Ulta.com
The second I swatched this color I knew it was an exact dupe for the TooFaced Melted in Fucshia. I couldn't believe how close the colors and formula is. The lasting power of the swatches was the same. This lipstick doesn't transfer as easy as the Melted, but it is just as glossy and beautiful.

Baked Blush
MAC Mineralize Blush in Petal Power-$27 MAC.com
This color is so beautiful. It's a coral pink with a gold shimmer. Which I like my blush or highlight (you can use it for both, I mean I do..) I know that MAC has been in the makeup game for-ev-er and they were one of the first ones to put a baked blush out there. I will be honest I don't know the real difference between baked blush and non-baked blush, but if you do, please let me know!

e.l.f. Studio Baked Bluse in Passion Pink- $3 elf.com
This is by far one of my favorite products on 2014. I've used it as a blush, as a highlight, as an eyeshadow. It's so versatile. If you have ever thought about getting a baked blush, try this one. You won't be disappointed!

Taste Test

I love watching Tracy & Steph try new foods in their videos. I decided when I opened this box of limited edition Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch that I would do a test taste post for it.

It smells just like the Vanilla Toast Crunch-VTC-which I was a big fan of. I tried the cereal dry and it tastes just like the VTC. Which okay, yes I like that one a lot, but come on. Don't tell me this is going to be a yummy sugar cookie in cereal form and just give me a kind you had out before. With milk, it was the same thing. I will say it's a little bit more sugary than the VTC, but basically it's the same thing. So would I buy it again, probably not. I get tired of cereals really quickly. I don't let myself buy good one, sugary ones like this often-normally it's Special K or Chocolate Cheerios for me.

Now I will say this, the Dunkin Donuts Sugar Cookie Latte is ah-maz-ing. Omgosh, one of the best drinks I've had in a while. It's my new fave thing from Dunkin. (I mean the salted caramel hot chocolate is still my #1 fave thing from Dunkin ever...) But this seasonal latte makes my Christmas dreams come true!

Happy Birthday...

to my favorite human. Babytooth is 26 today! There aren't enough words to describe how much I love her and what she means to me. My birthday wish for her would be for her to see how beautiful she is. She's very humble about her beauty and I don't mean just her outside beauty, I mean her inside too. She has one of the biggest hearts. She enjoys her job because she loves to help the kids she gets to work with. When she tell stories about "this little boy the other day" or "I just had the cutest little girl" or when she says "I got to hold a newborn baby today!", you hear the excitement and joy in her voice which brings an instant smile to your face. She will make the very best mommy once day. I can't wait to watch her continue to grow up. I always cherish every minute I spend with her. I hope that everyone has some like btooth in their lives. Cause she completes mine. XO!

It's Friday & it's Payday...

amennnnn! I still am not used to being on a every other week pay schedule after almost 2 years. Will I ever be okay with it? I just don't know. But anywho...this week hasn't been all that bad. I got a lot of Gossip Girl under my belt and started the Serial podcast-anybody else listening to it? I've seen SO many people talk about it on the internet, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I hope to get really hooked soon. Catching up with my JMichele tonight, Sushi tomorrow, then craft day (which was rescheduled) with the girls, baby bestie is coming over to decorate my tree, and of course, the Rangers. See you Monday, xo!

I was so happy I found the crossant donut for my friend, Dana. She's been super swamped at work and I just wanted to make her smile.

curls and sparkles = perfect Wednesday look.

my aunt brought back her impressive snowman collection. reminds me of when I was a kid.

my new winter drink obsession-sugar cookie lattes.

treated myself to this beauty to celebrate my 2 year blogiversary!
